E-Prime 1.2 and E-Prime 2.0 Pro simultaneously

Hi Edward,

I've been using both types of dongles on the same system, but if I
remember correctly, the lagacy dongle is not recognized once the USB
dongle is inserted. (Or the other way around; I forgot because I can't
use EP2 anymore for the reasons explained below) I installed EP2 after
installing EP1. On some systems (laptops in most cases) I had to
manually install up-to-date hasp drivers to be able to use the USB
dongle. Perhaps this issue is fixed with more recent versions of EP2.
Note that you only require the dongle for development, so if you use
1.2 only for running old exp's, than it should be sufficient to use
ERun without the dongle.

However, I know from experience that the hasp software protection can
be a real pain in some cases. On my own hybrid EP1.2+2.0 system I
upgraded EP2 about a year ago to EP2ProRC2.0.8.90. After the upgrade
EP2 failed to start with cryptic license failures. Tried everything to
solve the issue, but even the guys from PST couldn't figure it out.
Have been using 1.2 ever since, but discovered that the latest release
(2.0.10.182) runs without problems. Unfortunately this new version is
not an option yet for our lab because of the ep2-file conversion
issues.

best
Paul
