Object-initial Languages

This isn't an answer to Ron's fine and thoughtful question, but I'm
wondering if I'm right in assuming that object initial order in English
is highly thematic, highly marked.  Her husband, I like; her, I can't
stand.  This example  also  moves the verb phrases into clause ending
prominence.  The highly given pronoun subjects are diminished.  Am I on
track?
