Ph D Programme in English Language and Literature

The English Department at the USC is pleased to announce the opening of the
registration period for the Ph D Programme in English Language and
Literature for the academic year 2004-2005.



Aimed at

BA graduates in English Language and Literature or in such related
disciplines as Linguistics, Media Studies, German Language, Humanities and
the like, who wish to specialise in this area of knowledge and acquire a
thorough theoretical and practical training, leading to an internationally
recognized PhD qualification.



Aims

The PhD course in English Language and Literature has as its general aim to
train and equip graduates in English Language and Literature (and related
fields) to attain the highest qualification in the areas of English
Language, specifically in the areas of English Linguistics (present-day and
historical) and/or the Cultures and Literatures of English-speaking
countries.
