CALL FOR PAPERS (Deadline: 30 Apr 2012)
We are pleased to announce that the 45th International Conference on Sino-Tibetan Languages and Linguistics (ICSTLL45) will be held in Singapore on 26-28 October 2012, hosted by Nanyang Technological University. Scholars are invited to submit abstracts of papers dealing with any aspect of linguistics of relevance to research on Sino-Tibetan languages. This encompasses descriptions of phonetics & phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse studies, semantics & pragmatics, language documentation and typology, as well as field reports of recently researched languages. In addition, abstracts of papers dealing with the history of the Sino-Tibetan-speaking region, population movements, genetic studies, anthropological studies, and the consequences of contact with languages belonging to other linguistic families are invited for submission. Abstracts for the main sessions of ICSTLL45 should be of no more than 350 words, including references and examples, and must be submitted electronically via Easychair: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icstll45. Submission requirements are outlined on the 'Instructions for authors' page of the conference website.
PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Two pre-conference workshops on Austroasiatic and Miao-Yao languages are planned for 25 October 2012, the day before the main sessions of ICSTLL45 begin. The deadline for the submission of workshop abstracts is 30 April 2012. These should be written in English using a 12 point font and must not exceed 350 words, including references and examples. Please submit your abstract as a Word .doc and as a .pdf file - a .pdf converter is available as freeware from www.cutepdf.com<http://www.cutepdf.com>. The .pdf file should omit all references that might identify the author, to ensure that the submitted abstract can be blind-refereed.
