[gothic-l] Basic information on Gothic history and archeology

Dear listmembers,
as from time to time the question for basic literature on the history 
and archeology of the Goths crops up, I give here a short list of the 
most recent and reliable scientific literature in this field, which I put 
together for a similar qestion in the late antiquity list. Beware of 
pseudoscientific literature which connects things like the Goths 
and Gothic architecture without any scientific background like f.i. 
Gerard de Sède, Le mystère des Goths, and others with similar 
ideas.

The Goths in the Fourth Century, ed. Peter Heather and John 
Matthews. Liverpool 1991 (a collection of Latin and Greek 
sources on the theme translated into English)
