Thank you for the tips. Yes, I thought it was a
somewhat limited spread of the Goths. Certainly
there must have been more extensive Gothic
settlements in today's Romania. And hopefully
the Romanian economy will allow for further
archaelogical work on Gothic settlements.

a lot of water has flown down the Danube since the seventies and a 
lot of research has been done on the Csernjachov-Sintana-de-
Mures-Cutlture in the meantime. To get up to date, I would suggest 
you take a look at 
Volker Bierbrauer, Ärchäologie und Geschichte der Goten vom 1.-
7.Jh. In: Frühmittelalterliche Studien 28 (1994) 51-171
and on the proceedings of the Caputh conference of 1996 on the 
problems of the Csernjachov culture.
No one would today suggest that the Goths settled only in the 
Danube valley. There were also settlements in Moldavia, the 
Bukovina, Transsylvania and Valachia till the Olt.
