Am adding a few more titles for those interested
in the Eruli. Marvin wrote a fine piece in 1990,
"The Etymology of the German Tribal Name Eruli"
(General Lingustics, Vol. 30, No.2) in which
he goes back to the Indo-European roots of the
name of the people.

There is also Pal Lakatos, _Quellenbuch zur Geschichte
der Heruler_, Opuscula Byzantina, 6, 1978.

Of interest could be Goesta Langenfelt's "On the
Origin of Tribal Names" in Anthrops, 1919-20, pp. 295
to 313.
