[gothic-l] Name of Teja

A short question. The name of the last Ostrogothic king is always
given as Teja in the literature. I wonder why his name is spellt
THELA on his coins, as indicated by all relevant numismatic works?
Would 'j' and 'l' be interchangible? or would the 'l' be pronounced
as 'j' as in Mallorca?
