[gothic-l] Ostrogothic or Visigothic?

In fact, could be any intrinsic evidence in order to decide wether an
artifact is Ostro- or Visigothic?
I am not a specialist, and my impression is that all Gothic and
Gepidic ornamental objects are of the same style.
When I saw the Gepidic hoard of Simleul Silvaniei (Szilagysomlyo), I
was stiked by its ressemblance with that of Pietroasa.
