The word I am looking has a variety of translations: Gk. 
(h?)ilasteerion; Lat. propitiatio. Dut. verzoening, verzoendeksel; 
Sw. försoningsmeddel, Dan. sonemiddel, nådestol, Nor. 
nådestol, NHG. Gnadenstuhl; Icel. Sa'ttarforn.

This suggests a literal translation of the Gk. "mercy-seat" and 
figurative translation or meaning  (essentially that of Rom. 3:25) 
"propitiation" or "means of propitiation". Should it be Go. *
fairsunjons or *anstistols, -sitls or would hunsl fit this meaning?
