norðr - mið nótt, 00:00
landnorðr - ótta, 03:00 (cognate with Got. uhtwo)
austr - rísmál, 06:00
landsuðr - dagmál, 09:00
suðr - hádegi, 12:00
útsuðr - eykt, 15:00
vestr - miðr aptann, 18:00
útnorðr - náttmál, 21:00

As the time was told by the sun, some of these varied a bit
