It should be borne in mind that Gothic prepositions have a number of distinct meanings and that these different meanings may require a different case. A few examples are: 

 spatial:
 

 bi (acc) = 'positioned around'
 

 gasaihwands than Jesus managans hiuhmans bi sik (Mt8,18)
 'Jesus then seeing the great crowds about him'
 

 temporal:
 

 bi (acc) = 'approximately'
 

 bi hweila niundon (Mt27,46)
 'around the ninth hour'
 

 notional:
 

 bi (acc) = 'concerning, about, dealing with the topic of'
 

 sa ist auk bi thanei gamelith ist (Mt11,10)
 'for he is the one about whom it is written'
 

 bi (dat) = 'according to'
 (see the example in my previous e-mail)
