The May 19, 2000  deadline for submission of proposal for presentation
at
the COTSEAL 2000 CONFERENCE is just 6 weeks away. This conference will
be
held at the University of Wisconsin, Madison on July 7-9, 2000.


	FACING THE CHALLENGES OF THE MILLENIUM:
	NEW APPROACHES FOR NEW AUDIENCES

* Call for Papers, Demos, Workshops and Discussions
* 40 minutes each
* Possible topics include (but not limited to):
	--professionalization of teachers
	--pedagogical innovations
	--student projects
	--using community resources
	--cultural issues
	--use of technologies in the language classroom
	--testing and assessment
	--grammar/phonetics in the sea language classroom
*proposal instructions
	--proposal postmark deadline: Friday, May 19, 2000
	  (either as a hard copy to address below or
	  email to: mabanglo at hawaii.edu with the subject:
		COTSEAL CONFERENCE PROPOSAL
	--proposal should include the following information
	  (as listed in the following category):
	1) presentation category (paper, demo, workshop,
	   discussion session)
	2) title of the presentation (maximum ten words)
	3) your contact info: last name, first name, department,
	   affiliation, address, phone, email
	4) co-presentor(s) contact info (if applicable): last name,
	   first name, department, affiliation, mailing address,
	   phone, email
	5) 50-word (maximum) summary of the presentation (for the
	   conference program)
	6) 250-word (maximum) abstract, including:
		--content/format
		--benefit to participants
		--equipment needs
		--target languages/levels
