Job: Translation Project Manager (part-time), Tennessee Foreign Language Institute

The Tennessee Foreign Language Institute seeks a part-time Translation
Project Manager (up to 29 hours per week).

This manager serves as the point of contact for all aspects of the project.
He/she will:

1.       Communicate with client about specifications for the project

2.       Select the translator(s) for the project

3.   Communicate to translator all known specifications and deadlines for
delivery to Institute.

4.       Communicate to the client a firm estimate of time and cost

5.       Follow up with translators as project progresses; advise the client
if there will be any delays.

6.       Arrange for or complete proofreading, and final formatting, if
required.



 A successful project manager will have the following qualities and skills:

1.       Attention to detail

2.       Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize and problem-solve

3.       Sensitivity to and knowledge of languages and inter-lingual issues

4.       Proofreading and/or editing skills

5.       Computer and Internet search skills

6.      Communication and people skills:  charisma, diplomacy, patience

7.      Energy and discipline
