ADVANCED FILIPINO ABROAD PROGRAM

The University of Hawai'i is inviting applications for a six week course
in Advanced Filipino/Tagalog to be held at Philippine Normal University
in Manila from June 14 - July 27, 2002.  An applicant should have
completed intermediate study of Tagalog/Filipino and must be a US
citizen or permanent resident; a university junior, senior or graduate
student concentrating his/her studies in the arts, humanities or social
sciences; or a teacher or school administrator.  Fellowships covering
transportation, living expenses and partial program costs are available.
Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2002.  This program is
funded by the US Department of Education, Fulbright-Hays Group Projects
Abroad program and is CONTINGENT ON THE AVAILABILITY OF FEDERAL FUNDS.
