THE SOCIETY FOR CARIBBEAN LINGUISTICS ANNOUNCES


ITS  14TH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE (SCL 2002) AT
THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES
ST.AUGUSTINE CAMPUS
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO


AUGUST 14 - 17, 2002


THEME:  CARIBBEAN LINGUISTICS: THEORY AND APPLICATION


Papers on any subject area relevant to Caribbean Linguistics, including
contributions on sub-themes such as Phonology, suprasegmental systems,
the Lexicon, Applied Linguistics and Sociolinguistics will be
considered.  Contributions are specially invited for presentation at the
special colloquia dealing with langauge learning and teaching in the
Caribbean.


The following format is required for all abstracts being proposed.  At
the top of the page type: Name, Mailing address, e-mail address, fax and
telephone numbers.  Immediately below, type the title of the paper and
below this the text of the abstract, using single line spacing.
Abstracts should be no longer than one page and may be sent by regular
or electronic mail as inidcated.


Send three (3) copies by regular mail to:

The deadline for receipt of abstracts is January 2, 2002.  Acceptance
letters will be mailed by January 25, 2002.
