Observations on the provisional timing
        The final program will include the detailed scheduling of
colloquia, oral
papers and posters sessions (day, hour and room).
        The timetable of the plenary and colloquia sessions perhaps will
have be
modified in the final program.

CALL FOR PAPERS
        Submissions are invited for oral (or poster) presentations on
any aspect
of bilingualism, from psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic or threoretical
approaches, with a time allocation of 30 minutes, to include 20 minutes
presentation and 10 minutes discussion.
        All submissions will be peer-reviewed anonymously by members of
the
Scientific Committee. The main criterion for selection will be the
quality
of proposal.
        Due to the large number of contributions anticipated, the
organisers may
decide to accept a proportion of papers as posters.


SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 1 May, 2002
NOTICES OF ACCEPTANCE: June, 2002


PROCEEDINGS
        The papers presented at the Symposium will be published at a
later date by
Vigo University Press (volume of Proceedings).
        Moreover, the conference organisers would like to invite
participants to
submit your paper for publication in the journal Estudios de
Sociolinguistica (Journal web site: http://www.uvigo.es/webs/ssl/eds/)

HOW TO SUBMIT:
Each submission should include:
        a) A cover sheet containing: the author(s) name(s), postal
address, e-mail
address, fax number, affiliation, the title of the paper (with the
category
of proposal you are making: oral or poster), and equipment for
presentation.
        b) Four copies of one-page abstract.
        c) A diskette with an electronic version of the abstract in Rich
Text
Format (RTF) or in doc format. Only PC-compatible diskettes please.
        Only copies sent by post will are considered (not e-mail or fax
please).

LANGUAGES FOR THE PAPERS
Languages for the papers (and for the publication in the Proceedings
volume
and in the journal Estudios de Sociolinguistica): English, French,
Portuguese, Italian, Galician, Catalan or Spanish.
