The Historical Society of Pennsylvania has completed two major
archival projects, processing eight collections to ensure their
availability to diverse communities of researchers.

(section deleted here RE: non-Asian-American project)

For the second project, a project archivist processed seven archival
collections of Asian-American organizations and individuals: The
Indo-American Association of Delaware, The Southeast Asian Resource
Center, Dean Yabuki, Tsiwen M. Law, Hilary Conroy, Vuong Thuy, and
Yam
Tong and Daisy Law Hoh. The finding aids are available on the
Society's
website. These papers constitute the first collections available for
research in Philadelphia-area repositories documenting Asian
immigrant
communities, and especially the business and professional concerns of
the individuals represented. They also offer fascinating and
important
insights into the networks within Asian immigrant communities and
across generations and successive waves of immigration.

Both projects were funded in part by the Pennsylvania Historical and
   Museum Commission.

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania, including The Balch Institute
for Ethnic Studies, documents, preserves, and shares the histories
and
cultures of the diverse communities in the greater Philadelphia
region, across Pennsylvania, and throughout the nation. The Society
brings together people and documents to explore and interpret
history,
enriching the lives of the individuals and communities drawn to the
stories of the United States and its people.
