Heritage Language Programs Conference
Register by September 15!

Community-Based Heritage Language Schools:
Promoting Collaboration among Educators, Families, and Researchers
This conference will bring together teachers, administrators, and parents involved in community-based language schools across the United States, along with language researchers, to explore ways to address together important issues in language education. We will have the opportunity to share challenges, best practices, and other information and resources.

The conference will include presentations by leaders in the field of heritage language education, who will also lead discussions with conference participants as we collaboratively seek effective solutions to our common challenges.

The sponsors hope that this conference will start productive partnerships in which community-based language schools work together as well as with parents, public, private, and charter school programs, universities, and other organizations to advance the goal of supporting the rich heritage language resources in our country.

We will hear a keynote address from Dr. Terrence Wiley, President of the Center for Applied Linguistics, on Linguistic Landscapes and Their Power in Heritage Language Education, and then we will hear from and discuss with presenters on three critical topics in heritage language education: Engaging Partners in our initiatives; Building Strong, Sustainable Programs; and Motivating and Empowering Students. At a closing reception, we will have the opportunity to network and collaborate.
We look forward to seeing you soon!!
