Parents can refuse to have their children tested in English (or tested
period!) -- like they have done in Hawaii at Punana Leo.

Organizations such as Punana Leo and Piegan Institute have brought this issue
of the contradiction in federal legislation between NCLB and the Native
American Languages Act to the attention of our national leaders, our congressional
representatives, and our state educational offices. We both testified at the
Senate Committe on Indian Affairs to this effect.
