New Years Greetings to you all!

I am proud to send you the attached news release announcing a new, deeply
important Lewis & Clark Bicentennial legacy to help stem the tide of extinction
for many American Indian ancestral languages along the Lewis & Clark National
Historic Trail. The $1.6 million Native Voices Endowment has been created by
the Circle of Tribal Advisors, National Council of the Lewis & Clark
Bicentennial and Missouri Historical Society in partnership with the Endangered
Language Fund and the Oregon Community Foundation. Funding for the endowment
comes from surcharges on sales of the US Mint's 2004 Lewis & Clark
Commemorative Coin. The first grant cycle will be announced this Spring.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or would like to speak
with any of the endowment's creators, managers or advisory committee members.

My best for 2007 - Sammye
