Dear friends, 
I hope all of you remember me. I was a Fulbright scholar in America from March to August, 2007. 
I am a Head of the state and law disciplines Deparment of the Tatar 
state humanitarian and pedagogical university (Kazan, Russia). 
On May 19, 2008 we will organize a conference “Contemporary questions of 
the people’s rights in the modern world”. It will be international 
conference. We will publish a collection of articles in Russian and 
English languages. So, all of you are welcome to participate at our conference. 
You can send you articles to my e-mail. The questions which will be 
discussed are: indigenous people’s rights, national minorities rights, 
self-determination right, self-government right, lands and natural 
resources rights, language and religious rights and also in particular: 
International and domestic protection of Native American rights. 
The ILO Indigenous and Tribal Peoples’ Convention 1989 (№ 169). 
United Nation Declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples 
adopted by the Human Rights Council on 29 June 2006. 
Regional legal documents on indigenous peoples’ rights protection. 
Draft Inter-American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People 
The role of International organizations in indigenous peoples’ rights 
protection. 
Regional organizations. Organization of American States. 
Domestic activity in the field of indigenous peoples’ rights and freedom 
in the USA. 
National liberation movement of indigenous peoples during colonization 
of the American continent. 
Federal Indian Law, as a part of Federal system of the US law. 
The legal status of territorial formations of indigenous peoples of the 
USA. 
United States Department of the Interior (Bureau of Indian Affairs), its role and so on.
