Mother tongues facing threats of extinction

Kathmandu, Feb. 21: Experts of mother languages said that the existing mother
languages in Nepal have been facing threats due to the unabated foreign
influence and growing indifference of the concerned bodies to preserve the
national heritage.

Among 128 mother languages, 100 have been recognised but only 69 languages are
living and nationally adopted.
