Hi Shannon,

It depends on what input system you are using, its possible to create
a simplistic xkb keyboard layout.

>From memory Ubuntu has SCIM enabled by default, so documentation on
creating a keyboard layout using SCIM tables should be available on
the SCIM website.

Alternatively, its possible to install the KMFL module for SCIM, which
would allow you to use the source files for Tavultesoft Keyman on
Linux.

There are other input systems as well, but SCIM and xkb seem to be the
most common on Ubuntu

I've never tried IIIMF on Ubuntu, so couldn't really comment on it.
