Question re copying cassette tapes

CD-R will work fine. I think CD-RW won't though, but I'm not exactly sure.

The main restriction is that the files must be encoded at 16 bit 
resolution, 44.1 kHz sample rate and stereo.

Just out of interest (and possibly some professional bias) are you 
archiving these materials? And how are you digitising them?
