Wiluna's hip-hop hub

The inspiring power of music is helping people in the remote Mid West
town of Wiluna open their eyes to a world of opportunities thought
unimaginable for some members of the troubled community.

About 25 of Wiluna's 300 permanent residents spent 18 months on a
project to write, perform and record the CD, Sounds of Wiluna, which
features Aboriginal musicians and a Fijian trio from the town's
unusually large Fijian population.

The record mixes hip-hop, country, reggae, rock and gospel, courtesy
of the town's Seventh Day Adventist Church, with traditional Martu
language and Fijian dialect featured in several songs.
