Only marginally connected with the above -- I find it striking that we
have -va- < *-un.- in the 3 plural of a word like juhvati (and other such
words).   The rest of the active has weak stem juhu-, and there are a number
of -anti forms for the 3 plural.  So does the lack of a 3 pl. *juhunti tell
us something about Sanskrit analogical pressures, or something about
Sanskrit semivowels, and if so, what?
