IPA fonts

I am teaching phonetics once again, and I'd like a recommendation for  
a phonetics font that works on the PC with Vista.  Would Charis at SIL
be a good one to recommend to my PC using students?

Thanks for your help....I am PC illiterate and only speak Mac fluently.
