UK PhD thesis developmental language tests

Hi there,

Does anyone have an example of (reasonably recent) PhD thesis (from a UK university) on the development of language test(s) (or any related area) which I could show a part-time PhD student of mine to inspire her? The only example PhD theses I have hanging around are pretty theoretically-based ones.
