[Lexicog] Kweyol dictionary: Why popular? How user-friendly?

from David Frank:

I realized that a clarification was in order regarding the prices of the two
dictionaries for St. Lucian Creole. I already mentioned that the newest one
(2002), edited by me and published by the St. Lucia Ministry of Education,
sells for EC$10 but in US dollars that would come to only less than $4. If
we work out a way to market these outside of St. Lucia, we would sell them
for something more than $4, but still at a bargain price.

The new information I forgot to mention is that Mondesir's earlier
dictionary (1992) sold for about US$150, which comes to $400 in Eastern
Caribbean dollars.

I've just been reading newspaper articles on the popularity of the new
Kweyol dictionary. I understand that the price of $10 in contrast to the
earlier dictionary's price of $400 would be one reason why the new
dictionary would sell better.
