OK, for anyone interested, I have restored the files to the Lulu.com website:

http://www.lulu.com/cdkc

The book in question is the Cheyenne Picture Dictionary. Anyone who wishes a free download of the pdf file can get it from a different webpage:

Ron, I've done this one for Cheyenne. Hmm, it has vanished from its storefront on the Lulu.com website. It only has pictures with names of the objects. But Cheyennes like it. It really should be upgraded to include names of body parts, parts labels on other objects, such as wagons, horses, etc.

Has anyone produced a visual dictionary? There are several in English (and I suppose other major languages). I’m interested in examples for minority languages.

A visual dictionary would be composed of pictures with labels. A page might contain numerous pictures of animals with each animal labeled in the vernacular (and perhaps the national language). Another page might contain a large picture of a house with each part labeled. If anyone knows of a dictionary that has employed this type of format, I would appreciate knowing how to obtain a copy.

    Thanks,

    Ron Moe
