Publication: For the first time, we are intending to publish an online
proceedings for Australex 2011. Details to be announced once the program is
finalised.

 

The theme for Australex 2011 is "Dictionaries inside and outside the
classroom". Paper offers may address a wide range of areas associated with
the educational and cultural roles of dictionaries. Topics might include:
learners dictionaries, dictionaries in indigenous communities, online
dictionaries, the present state of the descriptive/prescriptive debate,
specialist dictionaries, dictionary entry style, phraseology, language
policy and lexicography, terminology and terminography, the social and
cultural functions of regional dictionaries. If you would like to submit a
paper, poster or panel contribution, please send an abstract of no more than
400 words to adam.smith at mq.edu.au by 1 July, 2011. Notification of
acceptance will be sent out by 15 July, 2011.

 

Up to two student bursaries are available to help full-time students from
Australia and New Zealand  attend the conference and present a paper.
