Speech Analysis Software

Choice of speech analysis software depends on your platform and the
type of analysis you want to do (apart from envelope- and
pitch-tracking). My first bet for your needs would be Praat, a very
flexible cross-platform program for speech analysis. Not only is it
relatively cheap ($150) but you can access a feature-complete version
by contacting the author.

Steven Bird at UPenn has several pages devoted to linguistic
software, including summaries. Here's one of them.

And here is a rather crude list of sound analysis software solutions
I compiled over a year ago. It's mostly Mac-biased but does include
some cross-platform programs as well as a few Windows and Unix
packages. Feel free to add to it if you have suggestions.
