Dear Colleagues,
I am writing because the season of dissertation defenses is approaching.
At CaMP anthropology, we want to create a historical record of the
dissertations produced in our intellectual community
in a playful way.   So we ask recent Phds to take the page 99 test with
their dissertation.

The "test" is simple: Is Ford Madox Ford's statement "Open the book to page
ninety-nine and read, and the quality of the whole will be revealed to
you," accurate
for the dissertation? To answer, the author will have to say
  something (1) about the
page and (2) about the dissertation.

If you defended your dissertation in the past two years, and especially
if you are about to defend,
please consider writing a blogpost for CaMP anthropology about your
page 99.   If you have students
who have recently defended or will soon, please encourage them to do this.

Previous examples can be found here:

Thank you,
Ilana
