                      DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Rank: assitant professor (koshi; tenure track)
Subject: English
Duties:

(1) teaching English, with an emphasis on oral communicative
    skills, to undergraduate students;

    applicant will be expected to attend faculty meetings,
    serve on committees, and do other work that is normally
    shared by faculty members at Japanese universities.

Salary:
Salary will be determined in accord with the age, education, and

Kumamoto Gakuen University does not distinguish between Japanese and
non-Japanese faculty. Accordingly, all full-time faculty members
begin their employment with the Japanese equivalent of tenure. The

opportunities for advancement as other faculty members.
