In response to Yumiko Sasaki Alam's question about ASCII representation of
the IPA, there are several competing versions. Mine is on-line. You can
read it in hypertext at

        http://weber.u.washington.edu/~yuenren/ASCII_IPA.html

or you can download a PostScript version of the paper and print it on a
PostScript printer. The address of the PostScript version is:

        http://weber.u.washington.edu/~yuenren/ASCII_IPA.ps

A free online e-mail service delivering targeted research and
education U.S. government funded opportunities is now operational.
The service is provided by Federal Information Exchange (FEDIX) in
cooperation with the U. S. Department of Energy. A consolidated
data base of RFPs, grants, fellowships, scholarships, or other
funding opportunities from the Departments of Energy, Agriculture,
Transportation, Veterans Affairs, and AID, NASA, NIH, EPA, AFOSR,
ONR, and DISA will generate an e-mail to subscribers.

Registration requires subscribers to outline the type of funding
opportunities to be targeted. This process can take up to 30
minutes. To subscribe, go to (note: this long address is case
    sensitive):

    enu>

    and select "Registration."

The FEDIX home page is simpler at

                             http://www.fie.com

and has an excellent search engine for the funding database as
well as useful links to other federal sites. The gopher address is
<gopher.fie.com> and the telnet address is <fedix.fie.com>.
