             13th Comparative Germanic Syntax Workshop
                 1997 LSA Linguistic Institute
                      Cornell University
                       July 18-20, 1997

The 13th meeting of the Comparative Germanic Syntax Workshop will
be held at the 1997 LSA Linguistic Institute at Cornell
University on July 18-20, 1997.

Abstracts are solicited for 40-minute presentations (followed by
15 minutes of discussion) which address topics in the comparative
syntax of the Germanic languages.

To submit, send FIVE (5) copies of your abstract. Abstracts
should not exceed 2 pages in length (single-spaced; minimum 12
pt. font), including all examples, diagrams, and references.
Please include a 3x5 card with (i) the title of your abstract,
(ii) your name and affiliation, (iii) your address, e-mail
address, phone and FAX numbers.


Due to holidays, bad weather, and other such things, the deadline has
been EXTENDED:

Abstracts should be received at the address below by FEBRUARY 17th,
1997.  E-mail and FAX submissions will NOT be accepted.

Abstracts are invited for 30-minute presentations (plus 10 minutes
discussion) on topics dealing with formal aspects of Slavic syntax,
semantics, morphology, phonology, and psycholinguistics. Send 6 copies
of a ONE-PAGE ANONYMOUS abstract to the address below. No fax or

AFLA IV Parasessions:  This year, we are considering holding a
parasession on argument structure.  If you have suggestions concerning
the organization of this parasession, or if you would like to suggest
other or additional parasessions, please contact us ASAP at
afla at humnet.ucla.edu.  The number and topic of AFLA parasessions will
depend on the amount of interest YOU express!

Abstracts are invited for 30-minute talks (20 minutes presentation, 10
minutes Q&A) on any aspect of the phonology, phonetics, syntax,
semantics, morphology, or first-language acquisition of an
Austronesian language.  Applicants are limited to one singly-authored
and one jointly-authored abstract.  Abstracts should be one page long,
with an additional page for data or references.  Submissions may be
made by regular mail, email, or fax.

To submit an abstract by regular mail, send 5 anonymous copies of the
abstract to the address below.  Also include an index card bearing
your name, affiliation, your mailing address, email address, and the
subdiscipline of your abstract (phonology, phonetics, syntax, etc.).
If you use an additional data page, all five copies of your abstract
should be collated and stapled as appropriate.

For submission by email or fax, send one copy of your abstract, plus
your name, affiliation, your mailing address, email address, and the
subdiscipline of your abstract.  Email address and fax number are
given below.  Any identifying information (such as name or email
address) will be removed from your abstract before it is printed out.
