I wonder if someone on the list may have access (or better yet, know
how I might access) recent language policy documents pertaining to
South Africa. I understand they are available on the world wide web.?

Much thanks.

A co-worker of mine submits the following query. Please reply to him
as indicated.

Hi,

I am looking for frontal drawings/diagrams of lips forming basic
American English sounds to do some animation. Any references would be
greatly appreciated. Please send responses to matthewl at dragonsys.com.

Thanks for your help,

Matt La Mantia

Subject: Question on Verb-raising in Arabic

I am currently working on a dissertation on thematic verb-raising in a
number of languages and am having trouble finding much information on
Arabic. What I need to know is whether it is permissible to place the
adverb between the verb and direct object NP as in He does slowly his
homework. Also, if anyone can recommend a good modern descriptive
grammar of Arabic in English, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks. Margaret Albers albers_m at hccs.cc.tx.us
