I am currently working on a research project dealing with

INTUITIVE EXPLANATIONS OF WORD MEANINGS

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of literature dealing with that topic
- especially as far as data collection (examples of explanations in
conversations / testing or research situations) is concerned.

Apart from 'Intuitive Explanations of Word Meanings' other key terms
involved are:

- Thinking Aloud,
- Introspection,
- Word Explanations in Conversations / Everyday Communication,
- Adult -> Child Word Explanation,
- Teacher -> Student Word Explanation
- Explanation Strategies

and the like ...

Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!!!

Subject: Q: Dalmatian and Antonio Udina

Dear Linguists,

I am trying to find web sites about the dead language Dalmatian and/or
its last speaker Antonio Udina (or Udine). I've tried various search
engines under: Dalmatian, Antonio Udina, Romance dialectology,
etc. but got nothing in return, so any suggestion will be well
received.

I will post a summary with the results.

Thank you all.

Subject: questions about Spanish

I would like references/suggestions regarding the two following topics
about Spanish linguistics. I will post summary.

1. What is the use of the present perfect (preterito perfecto) (e.g.,
me he levantado, he estado...) in Latin American Spanish as compared
to peninsular Spanish?

2. How does one explain the confluence of the past forms of the verbs
'ir' (to go) and 'ser' (to be) [fui, fuiste, fue...] in Spanish? Is
this common in other languages?

Thanks for your help.

Dear linguists,

Does someone know any references of works regarding negation in
arabic. I work on arabic negation from a semantic and pragmatic
perspective.

best regards
