La Faculté des arts de l'Université d'Ottawa est à la recherche d'un-e
professeur-e agrégé-e ou titulaire apte à occuper le poste de directeur
du Département de linguistique à partir du 1er juillet 2000. Ce poste
vient avec la permanence. La personne sera parfaitement bilingue
(français-anglais); elle jouira, en tant que chercheur, d'une réputation
internationale dans l'un ou plusieurs des champs propres à la
linguistique (théorique, empirique/expérimentale ou appliquée),
manifestera un intérêt pour la recherche interdisciplinaire, aura de
réelles qualités de leader et sera reconnue comme un excellent
professeur, aussi bien au premier cycle qu'au niveau des études
supérieures. Le traitement est fixé par la convention collective.

CHAIR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa invites applications and
nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Linguistics.
This tenured appointment will be made at the rank of senior Associate or
full Professor, effective July 1, 2000. The applicants will be fluently
bilingual (English and French) and will have an international research
profile in one or more central fields of the discipline (theoretical,
empirical/experimental or applied linguistics), interest in cooperation
between subdisciplines, a recognized ability as a team-builder, and
proven excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Salary
according to the collective agreement. The University is committed to an
