1/2 position: Human Language Technology (HLT) Infrastructure: Project
Management

January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2001

Institut für Deutsche Sprache, Mannheim, Germany: TELRI II (Trans-European
Language Resources Infrastructure)

TELRI-II is a concerted action funded by the European Commission. Its
goal is to contribute to setting up a pan-European infrastructure for
language resources: corpora and corpus-derived language data. Ca. 30
partner institutions all over Europe (with a focus on CEE and NIS
countries) co-operate in providing resources and resource-oriented
 software, in multilingual corpus linguistics and in the dissemination of
resources, expertise and new ideas in HLT. TELRI II is co-ordinated at the
Institut für Deutsche Sprache in Mannheim, Germany. More information at
www.telri.de. The project manager is responsible for meeting goals and
deadlines, planning and co-ordinating activities, liaising with related
activities. She/he will develop a long-term perspective of TELRI within the
European HLT framework.

Requirements: fluent English, working German, some familiarity with corpus
linguistics, ability to work well in a team, motivation, mobility.
