                        UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND
                LECTURER POSITION IN CHINESE LANGUAGE

The University of Maryland, College Park, seeks a full-time lecturer
in the Chinese Language program to begin Fall 2001.

Candidates must have fluency in Mandarin and English as well as
previous experience teaching modern Chinese as a foreign language at
the college level.  M.A. or higher degree by date of appointment
required. The contract may be multi-year and renewable.  Salary is
expected to be in the low $30,000 range.

exceeding 300 characters) on your teaching philosophy, transcripts,
and three (3) letters of recommendation by February 1, 2001 to Chinese
