Getting to the University of Ulster at Jordanstown,
N Ireland

The University of Ulster at Jordanstown is situated
about 8 miles north of Belfast city centre, on the
shores of Belfast Lough. Belfast International and
Belfast City Airports are both nearby. There are
buses from both airports into Belfast City Centre
from where it is possible to travel to the university
(Jordanstown station) by train (from Central or
Yorkgate Station), bus or taxi. Alternatively, a taxi
will cost approximately £18 from the International
Airport or £12 from the City Airport.

Accommodation

We have negotiated special reduced rates for
conference participants at the Glenavna House
Hotel (http://www.glenavna.com), which is situated
about a 20-minute walk or a short taxi or bus ride
from the University. The special rate is £45 per
night bed and breakfast per night for a single room
for Friday and Saturday nights (the rate is slightly
higher on Thursday night). You should make your
booking direct with the hotel, email
{ HYPERLINK "mailto:enquiries at glenavna.com" }enquiries at glenavna.com, phone 02890864661 (+44-
2890-864661 internationally), fax 02890-862531
(+44-2890-864661 internationally). mentioning that
you are taking part in the Motivating Movement
conference at University of Ulster. The Quality
Hotel, in Carrickfergus, also offers a special rate of
£50 per night, but is slightly further away. Bookings
can be made by phoning 02893-364556 (+44 2893-
364556 internationally), fax 02893-351620 (+44
2893-351620), again mentioning the conference.
The hotels have only a limited number of rooms, so
it would be advisable to book early. Alternatively,
you may wish to stay in Belfast City Centre and a
list of hotels, bed and breakfasts and hostels may
be found on the Northern Ireland Tourist Board
website at http://www.discovernorthernireland.com,
which also has general information about the area.
In general, there are good weekend rates during
January - ask about 'weekend breakaway' rates.

Conference Fees/registration

The conference fee is £45 stg, which includes
abstracts, tea, coffee, lunches on Saturday and
Sunday, and a reception/buffet on Friday evening.
It is not necessary to pay this in advance, but it is
essential to email us to register by 24 January if you
plan to attend, so that we know numbers for
catering etc.
