Logos Corporation, a leading developer of machine translation
software, has teamed up with translation and interpreting services
provider global words AG, to provide the B2B marketplace with an
innovative ASP solution for delivering high-quality translation
technology and services to corporate customers.  Logos' highly
regarded MT system has been entirely re-engineered for the Internet
with a browser-based user interface in Java, a core translation server
written in C++, and multiple dictionaries and rule sets implemented in
Oracle.

We provide an exciting environment for you to work as a

English Dictionary Manager/Lexicographer

at the Logos Technology Development Center, which is situated in
Rockaway, NJ, just 40 miles west of New York City.

This position's responsibilities focus on:

 * Developing the English dictionaries for our top-quality commercial
machine translation system;
 * Training and supervision of terminologists and lexicographers;
 * Quality control of dictionary entries to ensure enhanced and
extended lexical coverage of the system;
 * Designing and developing tools for making dictionary development
more efficient;

The candidates must have:

 * Good knowledge of English.
 * An advanced university degree, with a strong background in English
and/or linguistics.
 * An appreciation of the importance of attention to detail in
dictionary work.
 * Ability to work independently and in a team.

Any of the following characteristics is a plus:

 * Knowledge of other languages.
 * Programming skill (Perl, Java, C++, etc.).
 * Experience with databases (SQL, etc.) and/or language engineering
in an industrial or commercial setting.
