Dear colleagues,

A friend of mine, who has not access to this list, is doing research on hedges
in interlanguage pragmatics for her dissertation. She concentrates on foreign
language interaction in e-mail communication.

Do any of you know about references which might help her? Please reply to me.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I am looking for work done on latinate verbs used in English. Anything
on their semantic, (particularly aspectual) properties, syntactic
peculiarities (e.g. can't combine with particles, can't participate
in dative shift), or history would be helpful.

thanks,

Rebecca Smollett
