Call for Papers

We invite anonymous abstracts for twenty-minute talks in any area of formal
linguistics. Abstracts must not exceed one page in length (11 point font, 1
inch margins). A second page is allowed for data and references. Authors may
submit at most one individual and one joint abstract. Joint abstracts should
designate one address for communication with WCCFL 21.

Abstracts must be submitted in one of the following formats:

plain-text e-mail (preferred)
post-script attachment (must be viewable with Ghostscript)
hardcopy

No other formats will be accepted. As noted, electronic submission in
plain-text format is strongly preferred; a key can be provided for special
characters (e.g., "the lambda operator is \"). Attachments that cannot be
viewed using Ghostscript will be treated as not delivered.

Electronic submissions should be sent to the WCCFL 21 e-mail address:

wccfl-21 at ling.ucsc.edu

Please use 'Abstract' as the Subject header and include, below the abstract,
the information in (1) - (6), which should constitute the body of the
message if the abstract is a .ps attachment.

Author Information
1. Name(s) of author(s)
2. Title of talk
3. Area of specialization
4. Affiliation(s)
5. E-mail address(es)
6. Postal address(es)

Hardcopy submissions should include the information in (1) - (6) on a
separate sheet, along with ten copies of the abstract. These should be sent
to the WCCFL 21 postal address:

WCCFL 21 Abstracts Committee
Department of Linguistics
UC Santa Cruz
1156 High Street
Santa Cruz, CA 95064-1077

We will acknowledge the receipt of abstracts by e-mail. Notification of
acceptance will arrive by February 1. Please tell us if you cannot receive
e-mail and provide a self-addressed, stamped postcard with your submission
for acceptance notification.
