Lecturer or Associate Professor of English Education
Department of English, Faculty of Education, Kagoshima University, Japan

The Department of English, Faculty of Education, Kagoshima University,
is pleased to announce a position in English Education beginning in
April 2002.  Depending on qualifications, appointment will be made at
the lecturer or associate professor level.  We welcome applications
from candidates with an excellent record or teaching and research in
English Education (TEFL, TESOL, etc.) and applied linguistics (SLA,
etc.).

1. Title and Number of Positions: One position at lecturer or
associate professor level

2. Field of Teaching and Research: English Education and applied
linguistics

3. Qualifications for Consideration:
a. Under the age of 40 as of April 1, 2002
b. Graduate degree at MA or higher and publications
c. Sufficient scholarly accomplishment to teach graduate courses upon
appointment or in the near future
d. Native speaker of English with proficiency in Japanese

4. Teaching Responsibilities:
a. Courses in English education at the undergraduate and graduate levels
b. Courses in General Education English

5. Date of Appointment: April 1, 2002

6. Application Deadline: December 25, 2001 (must arrive by this date)

a. Curriculum Vitae with photograph (taken within one year of submission
of application documents)
b. List of publications and a summary of each publication (200 characters in
Japanese or 400 words in English).
c. An original version or copy of all publications.
