We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Does anyone know what the limits of community multi-lingualism are? I've
heard anecdotally of a town in India where everybody is said to be able to
code-switch among five languages. Can anyone confirm that this number is
indeed possible, or even offer a higher figure?

Subject: Grice's Maxims

Is there anybody who has any idea for Grice's maxims? How can I make use of
Grice's maxim in reading clases for elementary level?

What kind of activity can you suggest me?

I am preparing a master research on this. I will be glad if anybody helps
me with finding resources.
