Department of English Language and Linguistics
Lecturer in Linguistics (Fixed-term)
£22K pa, pro rata

The successful applicant will be required to provide undergraduate
teaching for the level-three module on Semantics, Pragmatics and
Discourse, provide training in research methods for MA students, and
be prepared to contribute to teaching on other modules. There may be
opportunities to undertake teaching in your own specialist area.
Applicants should have a good honours degree in an appropriate subject
and be in the process of completing a PhD. Experience of undergraduate
teaching and sound knowledge of aspects of semantics, pragmatics and
discourse are essential. This post is available for 4 months from late
September 2004 to late January 2005 to cover a period of AHRB-funded
