DESCRIPTION:

The Department of English at Lund University in Sweden is looking for
a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in English linguistics. The research
profile of the department involves three main areas. These are
semantics/pragmatics, generative syntax and second language
acquisition. From September 2004 the new Centre for Language and
Literature will provide researchers at Lund with the state-of-the-art
equipment for carrying out experiments and for using corpus-based
techniques in linguistics ( http://www.sol.lu.se ).

The ideal candidate for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship will have a
strong record in theoretical linguistics and/or empirical
methods. He/she will be expected to contribute to the research profile
of the Department of English, to present papers at seminars and
conferences and to publish internationally.

PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a 2 +2 year post starting as soon as possible after the
selection process is finalized.

REQUIREMENTS
PhD in a relevant field. Eligible for the post are scholars whose
theses were completed within the past five years.

DUTIES
75% research and research-related duties at the graduate level and 25%
teaching either at the undergraduate or the graduate level
(approximately1-2 courses per term and/or supervision).

SALARY
Salary is in the range SEK 25 000 - 27 000 per month
